Persona.Casual Appearance: Haru currently has long hair that reaches to her lower back. It is as black as a raven's feather and, in a certain light, looks like a deep deep navy blue. She has natural dark brown highlights that only appear in sunlight. Haru was born with gray eyes but over time they darkened with slight shades of hazel.( Haru inherited this trait from her great-grandfather.) Haru is averagely curved and is otherwise slender from running track. Because Haru is only at Ouran on scholarship, she does not have enough money for the uniform.Instead,she wears the uniform from her previous school in the States.Outside of school, Haru has a gothic taste: she prefers black clothing. Haru wears glasses because someone once told her she looks good in them,but in truth she has pretty good eyesight. Haru has a light tan from being in the sun. Her fingers are long and slender, making it perfect to play her instrument (the piano).
Personality: Haru usually keeps to herself. She isn't comfortable with change and has trouble adjusting to new environments and making friends. As a result,Haru usually plays the observer until she is approached. Haru doesn't want to get in the way of others' and wants to be helpful in any way she can. Still, she is cautious of being herself in fear of being rejected,and this causes her to be antisocial.She acts cold to keep people away...when inside,all she wants is to be friends with everybody. Being alone so often has molded Haru into a daydreamer. If someone finally does get close to her, they'd be surprised to discover how random and..unique (wierd) she is.Haru has never had a boyfriend and in turn is shy around guys.

Past: Haru's mother,Rei, was a very free spirited woman. She loved to travel and do crafts and to just have fun. She loved to be around people and loved the buzz of a city, so she moved to New York City (U.S.A.).Her dream was to visit Tokyo. Rei met Haru's father,Hiroshi, one night at a club.She'd been out with her friends whilst he was celebrating his new title as head of a major real estate company.The two fell in love and,soon after their marriage, moved in together.Not too long after, Haru was born. Haru's parents homeschooled her because they loved their daughter too much to let her go. Haru was a happy child. Even when she was shunned at school (she finally attended at age 8,but was bright enough to catch up), she found happiness in her mother's piano playing and talk of the dream city:Tokyo.Fueled by her mother's stories,Haru was encouraged to study the Japanese (taking a liking to anime and manga).In no time,she became a fluent speaker in the language.
Haru's world was turned when her mother died of an illness three years after giving birth to the twins.Haru was nine. Of course,losing her mother at such an age,Haru was devastated.But being the quick girl she was,she knew her father would have trouble raising three daughters by himself...and she found supporting her family more important than self-pity.Haru did all she could:helping her father around the house and raising her sisters with the love and care her mother had shown her.Even so,she managed to keep her grades at the best in her class as to not worry her father.Eventually,Haru's father made an announcement: the family was to move to Japan.
Hiroshi conveniently got this opportunity with his real estate business.He was elated to find out that it would take him to the place his late wife had never gotten a chance to visit. And even though Haru wanted to be happy,she couldn't help but worry that this transition would throw the family off balance again.Still,with her father's interests at heart,she applied for scholarships to many schools in Japan.Several accepted her because of her high grades and father's status. Finally,she decided on Ouran High School,since it's closest to home and her sisters' school. She hopes she'll be able to get a job to support her father and that she'll be accepted as a friend to her future schoolmates.
Additional Notes: Haru has never been on a track team and isn't particularly fast, but running helps blow off her anxiety: she's able to clear her mind of any stress for a little while. Also,Haru is
not a stalker,no matter how much she might be staring at somebody.Sometimes,she may be very intrigued by the person (she does have a tendency to observe).Most of the time though,her eyes are just using them as a subject to focus on while her mind wanders to places unknown.
