Kairi opened her eyes as she heard the girl speak.A dog?She stood up almost as something bit her.She looked around and saw Mereni and waved at her hapily but then turned to the dog with a big childish smile."hey,come here boy."

Mereni smiled and jogged over to Kairi and her dog. "Hey there Kairi. What's up?"

Kairi hugged the dog and started playing with it."Nothing much...with you?"She asked and budded the dog's belly.

Mereni shrugged and smiled at Jack. "Nothing much. Just taking Jack out for a walk."

Kairi finally came back to earth and let the dog had some peace.She scrached the back of her head with a little nervous laugh."Sorry...I love dogs.."She muttered and looked at the girl."Anyway I don't remember you having a dog.What's his story?"

Mereni smiled and sat down next to Kairi and petted Jack's head. Jack licked her hand and then Kairi's face. "Last night in the fields, Evangeline was being chased by him. Jack didn't have a collar, and looked like he was abused so I took him in."

Kairi smiled and again started playing with the dog."He is soooo cute..."She said in a rather strange voice."So you're name is Jack."She said when she was back to her normal self,if that could be called normal."Anyway...anything new with you?Besides the dog..."Kairi asked turning to Mereni.

Mereni shrugged. "Nothing much. What about you?" She kissed Jack's head and smiled.

"Been around. Staying with my dad for a weekend." Mereni replied, rubbing Jack's stomach.

Kairi nodded and streched back when she picked up one more stone.She then sat on the edge and started dropping them in the water.

Kairi turned to her with a little confused look.Then the thought that what she was doing may seem strange to the girl passed her mind so she smiled and nodded."Yeah..just trying to find something fun to do."

Kairi titled her head finding herself a little lost.Then she remembered what Mereni is talking about."Well..."She sweatdropped."...as I said I love dogs and often I'm found talking to them like they are little babys...in a rather strange voice."

Mereni smiled and took a nearby stick and threw it. Jack went off running towards it and brought it back.

Kairi looked at the dog and a little laugh escaped her."So how are things between you and oni-san?"She asked as she looked at Mereni still with a smile.

Kari took the stick and feld it up high."Sit...Siiit."She said to the dog and Jack did as she said."Good boy...Fetch!"She trew the stick and smiled while watching the dog run after the stick.
