The Garden.

"So you lost someone close to you?" *Looks at him and then her eyes soften wanting to hear more of his life more than of her own*

*Shrugs again, hiding the sadness with indifference* "My sister. Her name was Rei too." *Chuckles a bit, though it's saddened* "But, I'd like to hear more about your life, have you ever lost anyone?" *Not used to talking about himself and more used to listening*

"I see, that's why you hesitated a bit when I said my name... well yes I did lose someone, but... to tell the truth I'm not used to talking about it myself"

*Leans back, putting his elbows on the grass for support* "Yeah.. Eh, I'm not really the sharer myself, but it feels a little better to talk about it. I've been bottling up my sisters death and keeping it to myself, sharing it with some else..it kind of lifted a weight off my shoulders. You should try it," *smiles a bit*

*Smiles sadly and narrowing her eyes* "Well, I tried sharing with my roommate, but she thought of him as a selfish person, but it just..." *Pauses and tears crawl down her face*

*Eyes get a bit wide and doesn't know what to do at first, but his brotherly instincts kick in and he can't help but pull her into a weak hug* "Please don't cry Rei.. I promise I won't critisize you or anyone you care for ever."

*Smiles sadly and lowers her eyes* "Well... where did you want me to start?"

"Whenever it all started. I have time and 2 ears, don't be embarrassed or afraid to leave anything out. And I swear I won't say anything that could hurt you, you can trust me." *Looks at her with genuine, but sad eyes*

*Smirks sadly* "You remind me so much of him actually... Alright I guess it all started when I was just entering middle school, my father had run away and my mother was ignoring me to take care of my little brother. I don't hate him or anything it just how it happened. My mother always knew that my brother would leave us, and she always somehow forced me to stay. I met him when I was just starting out in school, he was my first crush, my first love my first... everything, and he finally asked me out, but it took about high school for him to do it... well he was late for our date helping his little sister from this thug and ended up going to the hospital... what I didn't know was that he was going to die later by the end of the semester by his cancer he was born with. Near the end of the semester... his family... and including himself... asked me to... end his life..." *Pauses and feels the burning of tears filling her eyes and looks at the ground picking up a dandelion*

*Eyes widen and has to avert his gaze to the ground so he does't start crying himself* "Rei..that's so...what did you do?" *Wants to do anything he can to help and keep her from being so sad, but having no idea how he could comfort her, so simply hugs her again*

"One day we were walking and then he hands me a gun saying he can't wait any longer, and I just look at the gun in my hands, and more and more tears flow down my face and I told him I could never end his life. He smiled walking up to me and he gave me one final kiss... before pulling on the trigger on himself, while I still held the gun" *More tears flow down and she puts her head to her knees*

*Winces a bit, imagining the moment as if he were actually there* "Oh my god...Rei I am so sorry..I really am so sorry for you.." *Wishes he can do something to make her happy, to help her forget that pain, but only remembers flashes of his sister being taken away and her blood on the ground*

*Raises her head sadly and smiles sadly at him* "Your a great friend Kuro, I'm glad I met you today... Just... promise we can stay that way okay... I don't want to lose the friends I have... it'd be too much pain for me to handle" *looks at him hoping this would not be the end of their friendship, she would hate to lose someone from her past life like she had so many times in the past*

*Looks at her with a bit of surprise then his eyes soften* She's so much like my sister.. "I promise Rei. I promise we will stay friends and nothing can change that. Nothing." *Smiles a bit, though he's holding back tears* "Besides..I couldn't lose my sister twice.."

*Pauses and blinks a few times and then looks at him* "Kuro, I could never replace your sister, but I can be like a sister if that's the kind of friend you need from me... I wouldn't mind being a sister again"

*Gives off a small smile, less saddened before* "No one could ever replace my Rei. I know that. But, just seeing someone that's so much alike her..it would hurt to see them go." *Pauses, then smiles brightly* "I'm glad you'd be willing to do that for me though! We're friends now Rei-chan, and I hope it can last."

"If you can stay through my painful story, then I'd gladly be your friend any day of the week... hey, that flower analogy of yours, which flower would you be?"

*Laughs, feeling much happier now and back to his usual, easily excited self* "I don't think I could be just one flower. I'd like to think there's a little of me in each of them."

*Smiles and giggles* "I can really see that, actually, I can see that a lot of people want a bit of your personality along side them with things they can't confront themselves"

*Smiles with a bit of amusement* "Hm, really? I know people that can't get enough of me and people that would like much less." *Laughs lightly* "But, I do kind of tend to make differences in people's lives. Not sure how. I just be..well me."

"And you don't think that's enough? In eyes of many just being yourself may not seem like enough but it can change a world of many different possibilities. In my eyes, just being yourself can make even the loneliest child a happy one" *Pauses and then smiles nervously* "Sorry went into technical mode"

*Pauses for a moment, wondering if that lonely child happened to be Rei, or someone she knows, then smiles* "I think it's more than enough. A lot of the time, I'm not allowed to be myself, I can only be what others want me to be. But, I guess that's why I can see all the good in just being myself, because it seems so much better to me than to someone who is themselves and always can be."

"So, you could never be yourself before? Or did you start recently wanting to be yourself when you got here?"

"Before I started attending Ouran, I was never myself unless it was just me and Etsuko. But, now I can freely be myself and not be corrected or punished or anything. And already I've grown so close to people simply because they are who they are, and they like me because I am who I am." *Smiles brightly* "What about you? Has anyone ever restricted you from who you want to be?"

*Smiles sadly and closes her eyes* "You really know how to hit the hard spots at first sight don't you?... yeah, it's happened almost all my life"
