The Lake

He shook his head no. "Please don't, I really mean it... arrogance doesn't take you far." He said while sweatdropping.

He really is scared of things like that...She thought while looking at him a little supprised.After a moment or so she smiled again."Ok,I won't."

He smiled with a someone relieved feeling inside. "Hey, do you like magic tricks Kairi-chan?"

"Who doesn't?!"She asked and sat up with a smirk."Why you ask?"Kairi looked at Akira in somehow funny way like a little child.

"Only the Non-believers," He said with a dull smile. He took out an old deck of bicycle cards. "Would you like to see one?"

She claped her hand and her smile got even bigger if that was possible."Yeah!!!"She sat across from Akira so she could get a better look at the cards.

He riffled shuffled then followed Hindu style the cards thoroughly. He stopped and rolled up his sleeves to indicate that he wasn't going to hide anything from her. "Okay, I'm going to misplace a few cards and I want you to tell me to stop." Like he said, he started to misplace a few cards and waited for her to tell him to stop.

Kairi was looking at the cads thoughtfully waiting for them to really be mixed -up."Stop!"She said looking up at him.

He stop and lifted up the desk to show her the card, never making eye contact on it. The card he showed her was the Ace of Spades. "Okay Kairi-chan, remember this card for me and keep it fresh in your head."

He returned the card back into the desk and lifted up her chin slightly, making direct contact with her. "Okay, I want you to think of your card, but do not break eye contact with me okay?" he said still shuffling.

She was really excited so just nodded staring at him while in her head was the card.

He stopped and smiled faintly, looking at the deck. He flicked the deck and held it up to Kairi. "Alright, can you blow on this deck for me?"

Still staring at him she blew lightly on the deck of cards as a small blush appeared on her face wanting to find out what will happen next.

He smiled and gave her the deck. "Just know that you're the one that did all the magic." He flipped through the cards, and suddenly, the cards all changed to the same exact card which was the Ace of Spades. "Were these your cards Miss?"

She opened her mouth as her eyes were wide open.Kairi looked at the deck then at Akira and a smile appeared on her face."But..how?"She asked still not believing it.

"I don't know, you tell me." He said with a small laughter. "After all, you did do most of the magic. He flicked the deck of cards and blew on it 'turning' them back to normal. He stretched a bit and extended his hand a bit." Its not nice of you to change all my cards like that. Can I have my cards back?" He said teasingly.

"No..."She muttered and turned around lookin at them really curious.

He flipped through the deck and smiled. "Oh looky here, they're back!" He flipped through them to make sure all of them were turned back to normal. He put them back in his pocket and waved his hand in front of Kairi's face. "Kairi-san? Are you alright there?"

Kairi looked at him then at his pocket."Come on tell me!"She said and made a puppy dog face.

(Sure ^^ Go ahead.)

He laughed and loosened his collar a bit. The summer heat was starting to get to him. "A magician never reveals his secrets Kairi-chan."

Kairi made a angry face as she glared at him a little childish."Fine."

"Ah, Gomen Kairi-chan." He grinned to himself, then to his surprise, he saw Kate again. It seems like she's been showing up in his life a lot for the pass week or two. "Yo, Kate-san!" He shouted, waving his left hair slightly trying to get her attention.

Kairi laid down and closed her eyes inly to open them again and look around to see Kate.She smiled at her and waved.

I waved back.
