The Lake

(Brb, going to take a jog. :3)

Haru noticed the lake while walking by. The water was still and there were a few geese swimming at one end. Haru saw a few people scattered around. She decided to take an unoccupied spot. Standing by the bank, she knelt and picked up a good-sized flat stone. Then, as her father used to teach her, Haru flicked her wrist and let the stone fly. One...two...three...four...PLOOP! The stone sank after only four skips. "Aw man,I can do better than that." Haru muttered to herself,although it had been some time since she's tried.She knelt to gather more stones and began to practice.

I sat there quietly.

He walked over to Kate and tilted his head dully. "What's wrong Kate-san. You seem anti-social." He heard a stone sink into the lake, so he turned his head to see who else was there. He thought it was Kairi, however, it was another girl. He turned back to Kate and cleared his throat, "Come on, let's go greet her. She looks a little new here."

I blinked, but nodded and stood up.
"Okay, Akira..." I said, in a softer tone than usual.

He slouched a bit and walked over to the girl that was skidding stones across the lake, gesturing Kate to follow.

"I think if you went a little lower, you'll throw that stone even farther." He said with a faint smile trying to offer some sort of advice.

Hiri skids rocks on the lake.

I silently followed, smiled to the girl and waved, "Hello..." I said.

Hiri turned around to see Kate-chan was at the lake. "Hey!" she said, and waved her arms like crazy.

I looked back, "H-hiri?" I said, as if trying to remember if that was her name.

Haru had been about to fling another stone when she heard the male voice approach.Surprised, Haru dropped the stone right in the water. She turned to look at whoever's voice it was."Oh..um..right.Thanks." Haru picked up another stone, waited a moment.She lowered her aim from her previous position, flung it, and counted the skips. Seven. Haru smiled at the boy. "Thanks for the advice.And hi."She smiled to the girl behind him.She looked kind of timid if not slightly upset.

Hiri laughed and ran up to Kate, oblivious to everyone else at the lake. "So, how's it going?" she said cheerfully.

"Not a problem." He said nonchalantly, returning the smile back to her. His posture was lightly slouched and his hands were stuffed in his pockets. "I haven't seen you around here, are you new?" He asked curiously. He looked back to hear a familiar voice. To his surprise, it was Hiri. "Yo, Hiri-san." He waved lightly and gave her a faint smile. He turned back to Kate giving some of his attention. "You seem shy Kate-san, that's a little unlike you."

Hiri smiled at Akira, "Hey, it's nice to see you again." she said and looked back to Kate.

i looked at the ground, "I-its nothing...Akira.." I said in a shy tone obiuosly something was wrong.

"Hi..i-i'm Kate.." I said to the girl flinging rocks.
"Nothing really...hiri-san..." I said.

"Yeah I guess you could say that..."Haru replied to the boy. But she wasn't sure if he heard because his attention diverted to some distant voice,then to the girl by his side. The girl said her name was Kate."Nice to meet you Kate-san.I'm Haru." Haru also nodded to the boy. She hadn't heard his name. Haru thought about asking Kate what was wrong since it was so obvious despite her denial.

My eye contact didn't move from the ground.
"Nice to meet you...Haru-san..." I said softly.

Hiri looked at the girl apparently named Haru, "Hello, I'm Hiri Ame!" she said energetically.

(By the way Haru-san, you can put your picture in your signature rather than post it over and over again in a post. ^^)

He stretched his arm a bit, it had been stiff from the lack of stretching he's been doing. "Oh? Assuming that you're not a new student then?" He said, dully blinking curiously. He attention was attended divided towards everyone that was here. It was difficult to keep focus of everything that was going on, however he managed. "It's been a few days, however, it felt longer than that. Done anything exciting or interesting Hiri-san?" He asked, trying to stir an interesting conversation between the both of them.

He walked over to Kate furrowing his eye-brows. "If you say so, however, feel free to tell me if you're comfortable." He said, giving her a light smile.

Hiri looked back to Akira "Well not much, I've been thinking about what to say to Riko next time I see her. Did you talk to her?" she asked, hinting a bit of guilt in her tone.

"I just don't get out much."Haru replied to the boy.Then she looked at Kate.Haru smiled faintly, but internally frowned. Something was definitely wrong: she'd never met anyone shyer(sp?) than herself. But this Kate girl was...Haru couldn't describe it, but she didn't like it. Haru hated seeing anyone down. "Nice to meet you Hiri-san.And are you ok, Kate-san?" Haru asked softly,forgeting her stones for the moment.

My eye contact didn't move, "You don't want to here my issues......" i said, squating down puttin my hand into the water.

EDIT: Go to Profile, then signature and put whatever coding and etc. there. Then go to Preferences and find something that says "Always attach my signature" and click "Yes" ^^. )

He rubbed his chin and replied to Hiri's question. "The last time I talk to her was in the playground." He caught onto Hiri's tone and cleared his throat. "Don't feel all too bad though, I believe that we're all at fault including me." Knowing that he's very insensitive towards strangers and their issues, however speaking of issues, he turned back to Kate. He didn't mind hearing from her since that had a relatively good relationship so far. "Again, feel free to speak whenever you like, I'll be at Take Five most of the time so you can find me there." He said with a faint smile. He turned back to Haru and an idea came into mine. "By the way, maybe you could come down by my shop sometime. You don't really have to buy anything, there is usually someone there to talk to so maybe that will get you out a little more." He said with an inviting smile.

"Thanks."Haru smiled,genuinely grateful.She'd wanted to stop by the shop but was too shy to introduce herself to anyone. That reminded her...Haru turned to Kate. "Of course I do." Haru said just as softly, like she didn't want to scare Kate. She knelt beside her. "I'll listen to anybody who needs it."
