Haru began packing up the supplies she didn't need, but made sure she left the bandages in easy reach. If Kiane refused to go to a hospital, she'd have to change the bandages soon. "Um...what's your favorite color?"

Haru smiled. "Mine too." she looked out over the water and leaned back on her hands. Her eyes kept straying to Kiane's arm,still trying to think of how to ask him.

Haru's face took on a blank expression. Haru-chan, you can't always keep things to yourself, her mom had said so many times when she was little. Haru hardly ever talked back then. You need to speak your mind... Haru shook off the memory of her mother's voice and sighed. She looked up at the sky. "Why are your step-fathers like that?" Haru asked. To clarify she added "You and Kate-san's."
