The Library

"Sorry didn't mean to intephere..."Kiane said.

"Nar, I just don't know, I haven't seen her for awhile" he said

"Aww I see"Kiane said, wondering why Kate was avoiding Lelouch.

Haru entered the library, eyes focused on the paper she gripped in her hands. She had to choose a book from the three-paged list and do a project on it in less than a week. Haru sighed, scanning the shelves. If only Dad was around to watch the twins...I would've been done with this by now!

"Uh..it's useless. I already know everything they have here." Evangeline sighed as she closed a book. She slumped down at the desk she was at. "Books here are really really really shallow and basic. It's like for high school to college level only!" she mumbled, "Ugh, but then again, this is only a high school library after all." she grunted as she slowly closed her eyes.

Finally, Haru found the book she was looking for. She went to check it out at the desk, then proceeded to pick a spot on the floor beneath a window. She read the synopsis on the back, flipped through the pages a bit, then turned to the first chapter and began to read.

Cain walked in and began looking threw the books.

Evangeline sighed and stood up to return the pile of books she had taken. "I wonder if these are already all the books they have." she grunted lazily.

Cain sighed still looking threw the books.

Haru shut her book and stood up. It had been only an hour or two and she was done. She still needed to write the essay though. So she gathered her bag and exited the library, off to somewhere where she could write in peace.

Cain found a book and began to read.

Berry walks into the libary and yawns and walks to a table and lays her head down..

Haru entered the library, taking in the sight of so many books in one place. Her safe haven. She smiled to herself and headed for a small table near the window, where she sat her bag down, then sat in the chair. She propped her elbows on the table and surveyed the library. From here, she had a pretty good view. Hmm...which shelf today?

Strange... Haru realized after a minute of observing. She positioned her arms on the table to use them as a pillow. She lay her head down, facing out the window. I don't really feel like reading right now...

Haru blinked, staring out at the sky. She wondered where her father was now. Had he left yet? Did that mean the twins were gone already...? Haru was starting to regret her decision in staying behind. Just as she expected she would.

Vertigo walked carrying a pile of books to return to the librarian. He thanked her and was about to leave when he saw Haru from one side. He approached her. "Haru-san, are you..alright?" he said softly.

Haru glanced up at the voice to see Vertigo standing by the table. She sighed and smiled tiredly. "I'm...fine. Just have a lot of stuff on my mind." she trailed off.

Vertigo scratched the back of his head. "Do you want to be alone or would you prefer a company? I don't mind either."

"That's considerate of you to ask.." Haru noted. She sighed and ran her hand through her hair, messing up her bangs in the process. Not that she cared at the moment. "You can stay if you want."

Vertigo smiled. He sat next to her and gently gave her his handkerchief. "Here. Looks like you might need it. If you want to cry, then please do so. Letting it all in will just make it more painful and worse."

Haru didn't say anything as she took the handkerchief. She stared at it for a minute. Then she laughed humorlessly and mumbled to nobody in particular. "I can't even cry anymore." Still, she hugged it to her chest and smiled at Vertigo. "Thank you though, Vertigo-san. It's just...been one of those days I guess.." She looked down, seeming to be studying the handkerchief.

Vertigo looked at her and nodded. "I'm here if you need someone to lean on, or someone to hear you out. Or even vent your anger with." he smiled.

Haru laughed lightly. "Thanks but that won't be necessary. I hate loading my problems on others you know..?" after a moment she sighed in irritation and took off her glasses to rub her eyes. Maybe she should listen to Cain and stop wearing them.

Vertigo chuckled and pointed at his handkerchief. "Use that. Rubbing your eyes carelessly will only irritate it further." he took her glasses and looked at it. "We almost have the same prescription. I think you should wear contacts instead. I have spare ones on my bag. I haven't opened them yet."

Haru covered her smile with her hand. "They're actually my mother's glasses. Doctor says my vision is perfectly fine." she sighed and rubbed her eyes gently with the handkerchief. "I just wear them for...sentimental reasons. Thanks though."
