Mereni nodded and asked, "Doctor...what are the possibilites?"

The doctor smiled softly and said, "Pregnancy, ovarian cysts, ovarian cancer."

Mereni looked at the doctor with wide eyes. "C-Cancer?"

Akihiko's eyes snapped open as he looked at Mereni with worried eyes. He let out a long breath and looked at the doctor, "How likely is it for her to have the ovarian cancer?"

The doctor looked at Akihiko said, "Depending on her family history and genetics, not likely." He looked at Mereni. "Has anyone in your family had any cancer?"

Mereni shook her head. "No. Though my uncle did have lung cancer."

The doctor nodded and said, "Alright. I'll be back in a second with tools I need." He walked out of the room.

Akihiko looked at Mereni and smiled softly, he walked over to her and gave her a peck on her lips.

Mereni kissed back and placed her shaking hands on Akihiko's cheeks. "Akihiko..." she murmured shakily.

Akihiko placed his hand on Mereni's and looked at her with his deep violet eyes, "Hm?"

"C-Cancer?" she asked again, softer, looking at him with her own topaz eyes.

Akihiko kissed Mereni on her lips before pulling away. "The doc said it's not likely," he murmured softly, though there was unsureness in his voice. He sighed and held on to Mereni's hands, squeezing them a little, "But we can only hope you don't."

Mereni nodded and took in a deep breath. "Yeah..." she kissed him again and sighed.

The doctor came back in and said, "Ok. Mereni, I just need a few tubes of blood and then in a few minutes give you the results."

Mereni nodded and laid back on the bed. The doctor went over and took the amount of blood he need. He smiled and said, "I'll be back with your results in a bit." and walked out.

Akihiko hugged Mereni and closed his eyes, rubbing her back. "I love you..no matter what happens," he whispered softly.

Mereni hugged back and kissed Akihiko's shoulder. "Same here Akihiko. I love you and always will."

Akihiko smiled and buried his head into Mereni neck, kissing it lightly.

Mereni smiled and moaned softly. She rubbed Akihiko's back and asked, "If I am...you know...what do you want to name him or her?"

"I don't know..maybe..Tadashi or Emi..," Akihiko said softly, smiling lightly.

Mereni smiled and kissed Akihiko lightly. "I like them."

Akihiko nodded and kissed Mereni back, "They are good names."

Mereni smiled and nodded. "Yes they are."

The doctor came in and said, "Well I have your results."

Akihiko pulled away and looked at the doctor, "So..What's up doc?"

The doctor smiled softly and said, "It isn't cancer. You're pregnant but there is bad news."

Mereni looked at the doctor and asked, "What's the bad news?"

The doctor gave a soft smile and said, "If you go through with the pregnancy there is a very very slim chance that both you and your child will make it."

Akihiko let out a breath he was holding, but he smiled sadly as he looked at Mereni. He closed his eyes and sat on the ground near her as he held on to her hand, "Mereni..what are you going to do?"

Mereni closed her eyes letting the tears run down her face. "Are...are you sure that boths of us won't make it?"

The doctor gave a grim smiled and nodded. "As of right now yes."

"Maybe it was just from stress. I mean, when the pains got worst, it started to stress me out." replied Mereni, praying that was the reason.

Akihiko smiled sadly and wiped the tears away before kissing her deeply, and pulling away, "Look..Mereni I love you and our child in your stomach..but I can't afford to lose you."

He stood up and sat on a chair, looking at the ground, "I-I'm sorry..it's my fault for this happening.."

The doctor smiled softly and said, "No. I'm sorry. I'll leave you two alone to talk about." He left.

Mereni looked at Akihiko went over to him. She kissed him and said, "This isn't your fault Akihiko. Making this baby wasn't a mistake. It just isn't the right time and the baby understands that." Mereni placed both of their hands on her stomach. "This could never be your fault."

Akihiko nodded and rubbed her stomach, "..So what are you going to do?"

Mereni sighed and leaned her forhead on Akihiko's. "I'm going to get an abortion. I hate them but I always said that if there was no way that one of us would make it, I'd get one." She gave him a peck and closed her eyes trying to stop the tears.
