The River...

Kairi glared at him.After all she wasn't drunk it was just she didn't really put much thought in what she was doing.She got her cup and drank another and right after that another."Never say I lost."She said with a soft smile.

Vertigo blinked. He chuckled. "Hey, careful now." he smiled and drank his own as well, followed by another to catch up with her.

KAiri smiled and took a few more before she asked."Are you telling me that you are absolutly sober?"

Vertigo chuckled then looked at her. "Who knows?" he laughed. "Why? Are you telling me you're already getting drunk?" he smiled and took another couple of shots to catch up with her.

"No..."Kairi muttered and took the last few shots."This bottle is empty.Is there another one?"She asked and shook the bottle in her hand.

Vertigo scratched the back of his head. He shuffled through the groceries and found another one. He nodded. "Although, are you sure you can still manage?" he chuckled.

Kairi looked at the bottle and then to her cup.What am I doing?!She shook her head and gave a fake smile."I guess you win."Kairi muttered and placed the cup down and walked to the river,splahing her face.She then looked at the water and her reflection.The girl ran a hand through the water so the image will dissapear.

Vertigo smiled. "At last." he chuckled. He shuffled through his groceries again, and finally found what he had been looking for." he followed Kairi to the river, then handed her a can of warm coffee.

"It'll help you sober." he smiled. Then went back to his bag and shuffled again, looking for something.

"Or help me puke.I'm not too good with coffee and I'm not drunk."Kairi said and she stood up and smiled."I just don't think it's ok for a girl to get drunk just because of a bet."

Vertigo finally found what he was looking for. He walked to the river, then went back holding a wet towel. He folded it then placed on top of her head. "There. At least that'll cool you off." he sighed. "Sorry for betting with you." he smiled. "I just wanted to know you better." he chuckled.

Kairi laughed a little as she sat near the shore with the towel on her head."And the thing you wanted to know is how much I can drink?"She asked and looked at him.

Vertigo chuckled. "No." he smiled. "How long your stubbornness lasts." he laughed. "I mean, really, having a bet of drinking with a guy, in the middle of the night, in an isolated dark place, with them two alone. That's the craziest thing a girl can ever do." he laughed.

"Don't ever do that again." he smiled. "If it were some random dude you're with right now, who knows what would have happened." he chuckled and fixed the towel properly. "Take care of yourself, Kairi-san."

"I never said I'm not crazy."She said and laid down."And I'm taking care of myself."She said and closed her eyes.

Vertigo smiled and stood up silently to let her sleep. Then he immediately ran towards a nearby tree, and vomited there. "Haha. So much for a tough guy who's strong with drinks. Where did I even get that idea?" he thought and continued vomiting.

After a while, he sighed and walked over to the river, washed his face for a while, then went in the water silently.

Kairi turned around and muttered something under her nose.

Vertigo looked at Kairi checking if she was alright. Fortunately she doesn't seem like she's having nightmares. He then submerged and let the coldness of the water cool his head.

Kairi opened her eyes."I really can't sleep,huh?"She muttered and looked up at the sky as she noticed Vertigo wan in the river so he left him undisturbed.

Vertigo resurfaced and checked on Kairi again. He blinked. "What's the matter? Can't sleep?"

She nodded and placed her hands under her head."For some reason I can't sleep."She said and watched the moon.

Vertigo raised his eyebrows. "Are you serious? Even after all those cups of wine you took?" he chuckled and walked to the surface. He sat beside Kairi, although having a couple of distance since he didn't want her to get wet. He looked at the moon as well. "How can I help you sleep then?" he smiled.

"AS you said after all those cups I don't know what can help me..."She said with a small laugh.

Vertigo laid down as well. "Just close your eyes, and stop thinking about anything. Clear your mind with everything else you're thinking. And before you even know it, you're already dozing off to sleep." he chuckled.

"Or you can start counting sheeps. That's actually effective." he chuckled.

KAiri laughed and closed her eyes."Ok then.1...2...3...4...5...6..."

Vertigo chuckled slightly and looked at the moon, then the stars and marveled the constellations.

Kairi sighed."It's not helping..."She opened her eyes and looked at the sky once again.
