River

The River...

Vertigo rubbed his head. "You called me out here just to deliver a donk? You can do that at school tomorrow." He looked at her. "Why did you call? Are you in some kind of a trouble?"

"Yes, you can also look at it in that way." she grunted followed by a sigh. She lowered her head and shook it. "No." then she stared up at him. "I just..." she scratched her cheek, then shook her head again. "Gaaah, just follow me, alright? Shoosh and no questions, period." she told him before she began to walk past him.

Vertigo raised a brow. "Eve-chan what's going on anyway?" he asked and followed her.

"I believe I just mentioned something like 'no questions'." she sighed as she continued to walk towards the end of the river. She looked at her wrist watch. "And pick up the pace. Everything will be ruined if we miss this chance."

Vertigo was confused. He walked faster to catch up with her. He was beginning to recognize the surroundings. He knew this very well and he had been going here ever since he arrived in Japan. He began to wonder how Evangeline knew this place and he was beginning to be quite anxious.

Evangeline were already approaching the end of the river. She looked at her watch. Looks like they were quite early. Nonetheless, she continued to walk, until she already saw the small wooden bridge joining the two river banks. She sighed and shook her head, before heading there.

Vertigo followed her. He knew this place but he wondered how Evangeline knew. He only showed this place to one person and that's Kairi. "Evangeline," he called to her.

Evangeline continued walking and only stopped at the middle of the wooden bridge. She closed her eyes and sighed. It was almost time. And after a few moments, it already happened. Clouds moving to cover the full moon, the tiny glowing golden fireflies of the river bank began to ascend in a slow, calm phase that enveloped the area in its usual romantic aura.

She turned around to look at Vertigo and gave one of her natural smiles. "Remember this?"

Vertigo stared at her in shock. He was speechless and he didn't know what to say. He looked around at the fireflies and at the river with the same different colored special fish that glows during the night. The clouds covering the moon, the fireflies, the glowing fish. It was all the same. He looked back at her. "Don't tell me you're.."

Evangeline smiled, "2006 of December 25, the night of the full moon when the fireflies have emerged." She turned around and walked to the nearby riverbank and picked a blue bell flower. One of the fireflies landed on her hand as though saying it'd be easier that way. She snickered and took the firefly and let it crawl inside the flower, making the bell-flower glow with that same magnificent blue. She walked back to Vertigo and looked up at him.

"Hehe~ Excluding you, only one person knows about this, isn't it?" she smiled.

Vertigo said no more. He immediately pulled her into a hug suppressing his tears but somehow couldn't. "Where have you been, idiot?! Where have you been all my life? Do you have any idea how hard I've been searching?!" he shouted clenching his teeth. "Of course it's you. I should have known it was you. You're the first one I met here in Ouran, you're the first one that I kissed, you're the first one that made me angry, sad, jealous, and happy. You're the first of everything. Of course it was you."

Evangeline blinked then sighed. "Hey, don't get so dramatic on me all of a sudden. You're losing your cool points." she snickered.

Vertigo chuckled and let her go. "Why didn't you tell me earlier? Why did you only tell me now? I even had to search the whole country only to know that you were on my side all along." he smiled. "Let's go back to France after we finish highschool. What do you say? We'll be together there alone and live the same normal life like we used to."

"Wai- what?" Evangeline took a step back and sighed as she scratched her cheek. "I can't. You know that. And what's up with the question all of a sudden?" she pouted as she flicked his forehead.

Vertigo rubbed his forehead and shook his head. "I'm serious, Evangeline. Come with me to France." he smiled.

Kate went to the river.

Lelouch was sitting on a rock, feeling the water pass over his feet

Kate put her hand, cutting her finer on a sharp rock. "Ow" Kate grumbled.

Lelouch turned, hearing a voice, "Kate" he said happily as he moved over to her

Kate looked at him, "..Hey..." She said.

"You okay?" he asked, noticing her finger

"Yea" Katie said glaring into the water.

Lelouch wrapped his arms around her, "You sure?" he whispered softly

"Hai" Katie said.

Lelouch smiled as kissed her softly, "Good"
