The Forest

"Allergic?" Haru asked, bending down so she could see the husky and smiled at it. The kitten looked on in wonder as Haru pet the husky's head with her free hand.

"No...He was one of the main causes of abused pets..."Cain said.

"Well that's..." Haru thought, looking for the word. She frowned for the first time. "that's terrible."

"Exactly...." Cain said.

* "STop!" 5 year old Cain yelp after getting hit for his husky Aneko.
"Stay out of my way!...Brat!"Cain's older brother yelled, slapping his younger brother again then kicking..Aneko. Cain cried begging for his older brother to stop....* Cain thought of the time he was five petting the husky.

Haru noticed Cain's eyes go out of focus for a couple of minutes, like hers did when she often daydreamed. Haru stayed quiet. She looked up at the moon in the sky and puffed out a breath that she could see in the cooling evening air. She shivered slightly and looked around the darkening path.

"..I could swear that most of the things he did to me....weren't on purpose though..."Cain said, thinking aloud.

"I don't think he hurt you for no reason." Haru said quietly. "Maybe...maybe he had aggression issues and took them out on you since you were always around."

"Yea..."Cain said, standing up.

"How long has it been since you've seen your brother?" Haru asked, straightening up from her crouch.

"3Years..."Cain said.

"What happened to him?" Haru asked curiously. "I mean..where is he now?"

"Nothing he still lives in Hiroshima...I left him..."Cain said.

"What made you choose Ouran?" she asked.

"In chance to meet the girl of my deams..."Cain said.

"That's so sweet." Haru smiled. "I hope you find her, I really do Cain-san. A lot of people get together here...Oh, you should try joining the Host Club if that would help." she smiled again.

"Host club?"Cain said looking at her.

"Mhm." Haru smiled. So she was the one spreading the word now, huh? Figures. Haru stopped on the path and turned to face him fully. "The Host Club," she began like a teacher, "is where girls (and guys I guess) go to be..'entertained' by the Host Club members who fit their tastes. There have already been quite a few sign-ups, so I'm not sure if all the slots are full already. Still," she smiled at him, "I'm sure if you asked the teachers they could give you more information."

"..Okay...I don't think thats something I would join but I'll look...."Cain said smiling.

Haru smiled in return. "And if not, there are plenty of other clubs to join here at Ouran," she laughed lightly, "though I haven't joined any yet myself.."
Skit looked up at her with curious eyes; the innocence of one who barely understands what you're saying.

Cain looked at her,"Not exactly a clubs type...."CAin said.

"Oh." Haru cocked her head slightly to one side and smiled. "Well that's ok. There's plenty of other stuff to do here."

"Allright."Cain said.

"Shall we go then?" Haru asked.

"Sure.."Cain said

"Do you have an apartment yet?" Haru asked, walking aimlessly toward the apartment complex, holding Skit close to keep him warm. "I mean, are you taking the dog home?"
