Ame smiled, "Your smart Vertigo. But I actually believed my mother." she said shrugging.

Vertigo chuckled. "Of course. I know what you feel. Because I'd do the exact same thing if I were in your situation." he smiled.

Ame smiled, "Vertigo, I think you understand me. Am I still mysterious?" she asked. She looked up at him from where she sat. A rain drop fell from the sky and landed on her nose. "Nani?"

Vertigo chuckled. "Yes." he smiled. "You will always be." he chuckled again. Then raindrops started falling. He looked up. "Ooops. Looks like we can't go to the lake after all." he smiled, but was actually disappointed. He wanted to show her something nice. He turned around. "Okay, hop in."

(xD I might change it but the color of the eyes will be dark cause you are picky. the pic was actually black and white)

Ame shook her head, "I love the rain." she said softly. She looked up at the cloud stricken sky and smiled. She let the little droplets of water hit her face, like little kisses of tears. "It makes me feel happy."

She reached out her hand to Vertigo, "Sit next to me. I want to show you something instead."

Vertigo blinked, he began hopping back until he was right next to her. "Are you planning on getting soaked with the rain?" he chuckled.

Ame looked over at Vertigo. It started to rain more than sprinkles. She smiled as her hair had droplets of water at the ends, "Maybe. Have you ever sat in the ran and thought about how everyone is being touched and caressed by the same water. It's like being kissed."

Vertigo blinked. "Not really." he chuckled and finally finished unbuttoning his coat. He removed it and draped it over her back. "But at least cover up a bit or you'll catch a cold." he smiled.

Ame looked at Vertigo and shook her head, "Your gonna get a cold. I am fine." she said before sighing. "How about this, I sit in your lap and you can be my human shelter while you can use you coat and stay a little dry." she said smiling.

"I am not trying to get up against you, unless you want me to." she said laughing at the last thing she said.

Vertigo laughed. "Okay then. Nice way to put it: human shelter." he chuckled and patted his lap. "I hope you don't weigh that heavy or I'll have a cramp." he laughed, teasing her.

Ame climbed into his lap slowly trying not to slip from the roof. She blushed and looked up at him from where she sat, "I don't weight much." she said laughing. "What kind of cramp?"

Vertigo laughed. "Nope. Of course not. You're pretty petite and you expect to weigh that much?" he chuckled. He looked up letting his face get washed over by the rain. "Your name suits you. You like rain after all." he chuckled.

Ame leaned back on him and closed her eyes, "My name is Ame Hikari. Ame no Hikari; the Rain that has Radiance." she said giggling softly. She sighed, "Ver-kun, your nice."

Vertigo blinked then smiled. "Thanks, I appreciate that." he chuckled. "Well, my name is Vertigo Valentine." he sighed and looked up "The Unsteady Lover." (totally made that up! lol. but it does make sense. lol. I just realized it today. ^^)

Ame giggled and looked up at him, "Who is your lover?" she asked in a light tone. "You must have one, don't you?"

Vertigo chuckled. "Unfortunately, no." he smiled. "I don't have one. I never had one." he sighed. Then turned to her. "And yours must be Daemon, if I'm not mistaken." he chuckled. "Although you're not actually interested in incest with Kazuki, are you?" he laughed.

Ame's mouth dropped. "Where did you get Daemon from? He isn't my lover nor is Kazuki!" she said before closing her eyes, "If you must know, I have no lover." She glanced up at him, "If you had a lover, who would it be?"

Vertigo chuckled. "Really? Now that's a surprise." he smiled. "Me?" he smiled and looked up. "Well, there's this childhood friend." he decided to stop. Then chuckled. "It may sound corny and dramatic but yeah." he smiled.

Ame let out a small sigh, "To bad..." she mumbled. "I never thought about a lover..." she said looking to the side, "Nor do I want one. Having a lover and being loved are two different things to me."

Vertigo looked down at her. "Hmm? I don't quite understand. What exactly is the difference?" he smiled.

"A lover is someone who will use you to get what they want and then leave you with nothing in return." she said. "Being loved is when someone who you love unconditionally loves you back. They don't expect anything from you but love." she blushed slightly and a smile spread across her face.

Vertigo chuckled. "I see." he smiled. "So I guess I'm born as a Lover then? It even says it in my name." he laughed. He smiled. "Well, I used to be that way though." then he blinked and decided to stop again. "That's all in the past though. I've completely changed." he chuckled.

Ame closed her eyes, "A child who grew up without knowing love but gave her love all away." she mumbled to herself. She looked up at Vertigo, "What is love without a heart?"

Vertigo chuckled and patted her head. Then blinked. "Oops" and immediately took his hand off and sat on it. Then smiled at her. "Love without a heart is deception. Heart without love is emptiness."

Ame smiled and shook her head, "I'll make an exception for you to pat my head." she said. She took a deep breath and noticed the rain had started to lighten up. "Promise you will be my friend." she said looking up at him with her deep midnight blue eyes.
